Audrey's First Birthday

Well, our baby is 1. She had a really great birthday yesterday! She woke up at her usual time and played with the balloons with Mason and Gracie. After everybody was up and had breakfast we let her open her presents. She really wasn't so interested in opening...she wanted to play with the balloons. So, we helped her with her presents.

We really just had a nice relaxing day as a family. We played, had BBQ, and just enjoyed the day. When it came time for cake. Audrey didn't know what to do, but she loved everyone singing to her. She had a little bit of cake but didn't tear into it. That didn't surprise me though because the other two didn't either. She gave us a present, she stood up in the middle of the floor without any help or holding on to anything. It will only be a matter of time before she is walking.

Audrey's Birthday Cake

After getting food coloring all over me, the kitchen, and every surface that I have come in contact with the cake is finished. Here it is!

It is the caterpillar from the beginning of the Baby Einstein movies. Audrey squeals when

she sees him because she knows her movie is coming on. I hope she likes it! I figured one of the sections could be her cake. I will post pictures of the big day after tomorrow.

P.S. Mason wants everyone to know that he is going to be a flying zookeeper when he grows up. :)

Happy 2009!

Ok I am 5 days late...oh well! Anyway, We hope everyone had a great 2008! And we hope that 2009 is even better! We had a kid friendly New Year celebration. It started at 7pm and ended at 9:30. ;) David bought fireworks on his way home...."for the kids." So, we had a ton of big fireworks. We put on our own mini display. We could here ooohs and aaahs all over the neighborhood. Then, we had some hot chocolate and played Wii and put everybody to bed. It was uneventful but fun!

Sidenote: I was at the store today and bought these Eco-Planet organic cookies for the kids. They are awesome! I saw they had other products and a website, so I went online to check them out. I sent an email to customer service to find out where I could find there other products. I got an email within 2 minutes from the president of the company telling me that a case of product was being sent to my local store for me and would be there in a couple days. Now, that is customer service! I don't usually promote other peoples products, but it is rare that you find a company with such great customer service.
